Again the word hunted me as our shipping reporter spelled it out after experiencing one ride on it. yes! the YACHT.. The spelling of this word always used to get wrong for me during my school days and the way I was anguish at this word for having a spelling different from how the word is being pronounced .
Hearing of the yacht experience from my friend reminded the childhood grudge of mine on this word. but I still keep the picture of a brown colored yacht in mind from those text books, the one gives you a feeling that it is made up of woods.
But never did i dream or wish to have a ride on a yacht. The invite of the press conference came out of blue. I was on an excitement ride as i read the invite specifying that it is gonna be held inside a yacht. Still I couldnt believe myself and thought that it might be on a stationary one.
As me and my colleague headed towards gateway of India to get into a speed boat to reach the yacht that parked at the middle of the sea, I still carried my belief with me that i am going to enter into one stationary yacht.
Bewildered by the first sight of it, I stepped into the Yacht hiding all my exhilaration of feelings before the professional crowd. In spite of my effort of holding back the enthusiasm and excitement, I blurted out my joy and fortune of having such an experience. My colleague was equally thrilled.
Like any other press meet, we had done with the practice of exchanging the cards and exchanged the greetings warmly.
As i looked around i could see other faces engrossed in the unique experience and enjoying it in a customized manner. The press untied the tag of inquisitiveness and immersed in the divine scenic beauty and this experience of a yacht drive
I could find only one reporter carrying a note pad and pen who was pouring in questions to the company spokés person. rest all of us where rotating our necks to get the glimpse of every nook and corner of the yacht. the fidgety waves comes and goes.
After a while it started sailing against the wind. We just couldn't wait anymore. Me and my friend started exploring the different parts of the yacht. It had a sitting room at the front, a stair to reach the 2nd floor where the luxurious sofa like sitting place spread out. We sat back and relaxed for sometime. The soothing sea breeze and the meek sea waves put us into a dreamy world. For a moment I realized the importance of being materialistically rich.. Experiencing luxury at times makes you feel good. But that would be just a momentary feeling. I came back to my own world and convictions thinking that it is definitely good being materialistically a bit poor. I would have never enjoyed this much, if had owned that yacht. So one can become rich only with the experiences! I am indebted to my life that gifts me these experiences and making me rich day by day
Coming back to yacht, as the yacht sailed to high sea, the operators stopped it's engine allowed it sail against the wind by releasing the mast
The sun was all set for it's retreat. The clouds started turning dark. As the sun came down the sky started spotting stars here and there. The smiling moon appeared more prominent. The clear blue waters caught its image as the moon made it majestic entry. We were on our way back. I was madly clicking the snaps of each and everything which could capture my camera eyes.
As we approached almost near the shore, we went down and saw the remaining portions of the yacht. It had a dining room followed by a cosy bed room and a wash room.
The speed boat which was assigned to take us out to the shore had some technical problem and it made us to wait not less than around half an hour at the middle of the sea swinging with the waves. The cradling of waves made me dizzy and giddiness put me into uneasiness. I felt like throwing up. Some of the other journalists already puked out and some were at the verge.
Thankfully, the other speed boat came and I was the first person to enter it. It took us to the shore and that was the end of it. At the end i realized that I am sea sick!
